Already replaced with question marks? Lost characters cannot be recovered. This tool changes separators and encoding; it does not repair corrupted field values. CSV formulas are preserved as text here; spreadsheet apps may interpret them when opening a file.

Change your separator. Keep your values.

Adapt a CSV export to another importer without replacing punctuation inside fields. Processing stays on your device.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a CSV or TSV up to 10 MiB, or try the sample.
  2. Select source encoding and input separator. Check the table, then choose output separator and record line endings.
  3. Create a copy, inspect the output text and download CSV or TSV.

A practical example

Convert a semicolon export containing 00123 and Paris, France to comma CSV. The ID stays unchanged and the city is safely quoted. Import ID columns as text in spreadsheet apps.

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace every comma?

No. It parses quoted fields and writes separators between values. Quotes inside fields are escaped.

Does it change numbers?

No. Whitespace, leading zeros, long IDs, empty cells and field content are retained. Record line endings may be normalized; line endings inside quoted fields are preserved.

What about malformed CSV?

Invalid quotes, inconsistent column counts and size limits block export with an error. Select the correct input delimiter.

Are formulas executed?

No. Formulas remain text here, but spreadsheet apps may interpret them when opening the downloaded file.
