How to use this tool
- Choose up to 200 non-empty files, 20 MiB each and 64 MiB total.
- Choose original names or a new base, literal replacement, case, prefix, suffix and numbering. Use arrows or natural-name sort to set the sequence.
- Review every original → new name. Resolve invalid or duplicate names, then create the ZIP.
A practical example
Rename IMG_0081.JPG and IMG_0082.JPG to product-001.JPG and product-002.JPG while preserving the bytes and extensions.
Frequently asked questions
Are files on my computer renamed?
No. Your selected files are read locally and copied into a ZIP using the previewed names. Nothing is written back to their source folder.
Are extensions preserved?
Yes, the last extension is kept exactly. A leading-dot file has no extension. This does not convert formats or change file contents.
What if two names match?
Case-insensitive duplicates, Windows reserved names, unsafe characters, trailing dots/spaces and names above 200 UTF-8 bytes block ZIP creation. Fix settings first; names are not silently changed.
Can it recurse through folders or use regex?
No. Select individual files. Replacement is literal, case-sensitive and affects the basename only; no regex, scripts, EXIF or date-based rules run.
